    I have to say I think they're a good idea. I suggested one for that poor guy who lost his life on Harolds Cross last month and it generated really good discussion of the pro and cons and when or if its appropriate to place one. I'd hope they might catch on though.

    I was surprised that the three comments they had were all sympathetic to the idea. This is the Sun, after all! A little digging found a fourth comment, more like it:
    If Anything it should be a symbol to remind people that cycling on 'roads' is dangerous. If you are driving a car around a country A road bend at the maximum speed limit..and come across a cyclist weaving about you really dont have many options..Cycling on public roads is hugely dangerous..especially 'fast' roads.
