A quick Google threw up this support doc from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329. This is the way to go if you let iTunes manage your music folders. Read on for an alternative way if you organise your music folder yourself. You can still use your iPod to transfer iTunes store purchases (if any) to your new laptop.

I've only ever transferred the iTunes music database between computers. It works as long as your music folder is in the same location on your new PC as on the old PC e.g. if your music is store in C:\Music on the old PC then make sure it's in C:\Music on the new PC. Once you've your music transferred, install iTunes on the new laptop. Don't add any files or folder to the iTunes library.

On your old PC go to C:\Documents and Settings\ProfileName\My Documents\My Music\iTunes (ProfileName is the name you log in as). Copy the iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files to the corresponding folder on your new laptop. Open iTunes and check out your library, should all be there.

As for your Contacts and Calendar items, I'm not sure where iTunes stores this info as I don't store contacts and calendar items on my iPod. It could be in the same location as the iTunes library files above or in a sub folder. What you could try is exporting your Calendar and Contacts from Outlook to .pst files, import them into Outlook on your new laptop and then import them into iTunes. Maybe not the quickest way but should work for you.
