Hi, I am looking for a wireless cycle computer with the following features: Speed, Cadence, Heart Rate (along with the usual distance, average and max speed etc.). I bought a Polar CS200 Cadence, but both ones I have tried have been faulty. I could try a third but first I want to compare three similar computers I have been looking at. All are close to €100, only small differences so that doesn't matter! It's down to which is the best! Here they are:
    1. Polar CS220 CAD
    2. Blackburn Neuro 5.0
    3. Cateye V3

Do you mind me asking what the fault was with the polar? Was it the same each time? Did you get it repaired or was it a new part the second time?

Polar generally have a good reputation. Cateyes I have had have been very reliable but I have only had the simple wired ones.

the polar has got a grand big screen on it, so, its got my vote.

the blackburn, coming in at second, can that be mounted to your stem? ...do i hear you say no? definitely going with the polar.

Hi, first off was a wearlink heart rate strap that didn't work. I sent it all back to Wiggle and the second time (the one I have at the moment) crackles away to itself (like this problem). It arrived with dead batteries so I'd say it's the same thing. As Polar said "there's something wrong with the piezo. Please contact local service", but there is no local service that can help me. I'll probably have to send it all back again and hope for the best (third time lucky!). If not, I'll either go for the Cateye or Blackburn.

I've had Cateye wired computers before, moved onto wireless BBB ones on both bikes, never any problems. Now when I spend even more money, I get problems! Hopefully I was just unlucky because I really like the computer, it seems like just what I was looking for (plus I'd be stuck with a second bike mount and speed sensor for it!) Cheers! ;)

Yes, it can be mounted on the stem! See picture. Also, the screen sized seem to be pretty similar here (the Polar screen isn't exactly 'big" though, but adequate!)

got a polar and returned it, speed sensor only worked intermittently from very short range and the cadence sensor signal was not strong enough to be received when the receiver was more than 30 cm away. Check google for the polar range - lots of similar complaints. I bought it because my previous kit was polar - bit gutted to see a good company goy the way of shoddy workmanship.

went for a garmin from Handtec in the end and it just works on both bike without any hassle - the way old polar units used to!

I'm happy with my polar, the buttons aren't the most compliant however, I can't operate them with winter gloves on

I got myself a Polar CS300 with cadence sensor last weekend and unfortunately have only been able to take it round the block once because my snow-boarding skills aren't up to scratch. It was great around teh block, but once I try it out a few times, I'll let you know how I find it!
