    hi,

i have a 01 corsa that im trying to shift. nct is due next month. the car needs new tires and some headlight fixing to pass...i rather not put any expense in to it. any options? i was going to let it go for 1k ...the timing chain and head gasket were only done 7k miles ago and theres 68k on the clock...do you think 1k is reasonable?

A grand seems reasonable to me. I'm not experienced with selling cars, but I had a 406 coupe for sale. Had it around 4500, then 4000 for a couple of months, I got 1 person calling me being interested. Then I dropped to it to 3k (cheapest on carzone by a stretch), I couldn't sell the thing quick enough, I literally had over 10 people calling me in a week wanting to see it. So the easy answer is if nobody calls you just drop the price, in my opinion it's worth letting it go for a bit less than you were hoping for to get rid of it.

Yeah I think so, maybe stick it up for 1250 ono, give it a good wash and take decent pics, should be a nice car for someone starting off.

1k would be alot lower than what ive seen on carzone for that year...only issue is the nct...sure ill give it a go and see

Hard to know what headlight fixing is involved but it could be worth your while getting new tyres on and getting the headlight fixed if say the total of it was to come to €200, it will sell a lot quicker. Problem with a car with no NCT is a lot of people starting off will want something they can drive straight away.

On carzone the cheapest 01 is €1200 and dearest is €4995 so yours at €1000 should be easy to sell.

I would look at seeing how much it costs to get it to pass the NCT. Budget tyres for a Corsa can be got pretty cheap. You more than likely will be able to pick up a set of headlights from a scrap yard cheaply too.

It is tough enough trying to sell a car these days even with an NCT.

€1000 seems ok given it's condition, stick it on a few free sites (adverts, gumtree etc) and see if you get any offers.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
