i need to know the size of allen key required to remove the caliper . i have all the manuals and all but does not stae the size. the gf is off in the car and wont be back until i need to do it. so anyone any ideas? cheers

I assume VW only make one model of car that uses one model of caliper these days?:)

7mm IIRC.
Get a socket one so you can attach it to a ratchet, make the job a bit easier.
Halfords sell them individually.

If it's a mk4 golf then they share the front caliper with everything from the golf, bora, tt, s3 and octavia and lots more I can't think of. The caliper carriers can differ.
