why cant I pick up astra 28.2e

Hi guys ,
we have been using an FTA system for many years now with out issue .. till a couple of weeks back that it .
As im sure everyone remembers the high winds etc .. well the dish moved a small bit but no problem I had taught this might happen so I had marked the support so I simply taught match up the lines and hey presto back in business .. ohhhhhhhh how wrong was I ..

Anyways Im reaching despreation point here the wife has missed last weeks and looks like tonights desprate housewifes .. I know dont panic people the world will not end but i could do with some help .

Here is the deal

before the storm I had
All the BBC's
All the ITV's
ALL CH4
and the usal true movies - movies for men etc etc

While most of these were on ASTRA 28 , some where on 19 and no problems at all ..

At the moment I have my dish back the way it was ( or as much as I can tell it is ) and I have astra 19 at a signal strenght of around 89 and quality of 88 .. but Astra 28 is like 10 or 12 and quality is 0 .. so

But even with the astra 19 channels when I tune it in I get a short list of about 7 polish ( i think) channels , but thats it

There are other settings such as polartiy H or V , which should that be .


so anyone know why I seem to get polish ones and no english ones and why I cant pick up Astra 28 ..


any help would be appericated

Aren't the Polish channels broadcast by Hotbird at 13'E ?
Methinks your dish is still not aligned correctly.



P.s. I was aware that Irish people say "taught" but I'm quite surprised that you also spell it that way instead of "thought"!

Unless you have more than one LNB on your dish, since you were getting BBC/ITV/C4, you weren't getting 19E (unless by some improbable fluke there is a reflection off a window or similar).

As Sam says, it's likely that your dish is pointed at 13E, so you're way off the mark - you'll need to move it futher east (to the right as you look at the front of the dish), and down a bit possibly.

EDIT: There are a handful of Polish channels on 19E as well, some FTAs on 10773 H:

Some transponders used on 19.2E and 28.2E are the same, so that's why some often wonder why they're seeing channels that are supposed to be one channel list, on the other, and vice-versa if they're pointing at the other one.
