Beauxis will be partnered at half-back by Castres' Sebastien Tillous-Borde, a resumption of the pairing that led France's U21 side to the world title in 2006.

It will be the first time they have played together for the senior team, though.

"It is an untried half-back pairing for us because it is the first time that we have been able to include Lionel Beauxis, who had to pull out of the November Tests," said Lièvremont.

"He is perhaps the great French number 10 for now and for tomorrow. Out of all the fly-halves we have, he is the only one who is a little Anglo-Saxon, with a great temperament and an excellent kicking game."

    what is he on about?

Maybe he means that he isn't flaky like a lot of French outhalves?

I'd be fairly certain that's lost in translation. :pac:

And in fairness, how many times have you heard a football team say we need to be more like Brazil, or cunning like Italy, etc.

You have to love the French. Obscure team choices that put them on the back foot immediately - insane managers who speak existentially and they still win the 6 nations most years!
Truly frightening if they ever got a decent manager!!

They're my favourite team (Ireland excluded obviously :P) for a reason. ^^

might mean in the ROG/Wilkinson mould. Controls a game and kicks well, not a running outhalf.

As Sangre said,he clearly means that he plays a more disciplined/boring game, more associated with the 4 home nations.
Which is obviously what he wants in his number 10.
