what is the story with comodo antivirus

the web is full of good reviews, and its it total rubbish

i started using it for businnes customers as it is free for businness use

    1) you can't install most apps with it running (office, nero, firefox)
    2) you can't install harware with it running, (printer and wifi)
    3) it doesn't spot viruses

i installed it in a cad office and they had so many small problems over the next few months it took a while to spot that it was comodo to blaim, they couldnt install stuff

installed it in a printers and they couldnt swap printers between computers and the couldnt network the printer

also on my pc i wasn't able to use the installed printer while it was running

installed it in a vets practice and a few weeks later every pc started reporting nvkrn.exe errors on boot up, found nvkrn and submitted it to total virus, and every single other av spotted it was a virus (comodo wasnt on the list), it was transmitted by usb key from pc to pc

after testing it for a few months i have come to the conclusion that it makes your pc buggy and doens't spot virii

but its a free download if your still interested

I'd suggest you ask about those issues on the Comodo forum, where there are lots of people who use the software every day.

I'm sure that there are processes which deal with all the issues you listed.

Then again, when it is for a business you might consider getting them to pay for a license for a proven application...most of them really aren't that expensive. eg NOD32 costs a bit under €25 per seat per year if you get a 5 seat 3 year license.

I use comodo firewall at home and it is very good, but if you want the full range of protection it is not a set-and-forget application.
