Don't you just love it when critics focus on superficial things and not the serious issues that face the American nation?;)

"...the president issued an informal edict for 'business casual' on weekends — and set his own example. He showed up Saturday for a briefing with his chief economic adviser, Lawrence H. Summers, dressed in slacks and a gray sweater over a white buttoned-down shirt. Workers from the Bush White House are shocked."

GW Bush would not let someone enter the Oval Office if they deviated from his required dress code, and he even locked-out former Secretary of State Powell from an important meeting because he was a few minutes late.

They were shocked cause he made a sartorial faux pas of wearing a grey sweater over a white shirt. Don't you know that monochromism is sooooo last season, Blue?:p

Given time I'm sure the state of the union address will have as much to do with politics as the oscar night dress commentary has to do with film :pac:.

Im so glad Mr. Bush was on top of shirts and ties while he was fcuking up everywhere else.

Good article, paints the white house in a very positive light (potentially biased) but screw it.

Should have been grey on grey, like doom and gloom symbolic of the American economy?

In fairness, Bush is the one who started wearing a sports jacket over his shirt.

Obviously time keeping and attendance are values he had drilled into him in the National Guard.

Yeah, personally, if I’m going to be fleeced by a wolf in sheep’s clothing, I would prefer it to be one wearing a gray sweater over a white buttoned-down shirt. And looky here... we can add another billion or two to the stimulus package for the creation of a new enforcement division... the Capital Hill Fashion Police. Pelosi will be ecstatic.

If you cant have a bit of formality in the oval office where can you have it?

How long before casual Friday becomes casual Thursday and Friday and how long before that becomes casual half-week. How long before were all going to work everyday wearing jeans and button down check shirts. Set an example Barrack;)

Okay its completely superficial, inconsequential and a little silly but its just a pet peeve of mine:D How I long for the days when every man wore a suit and a hat everyday:rolleyes:
