Please recommend the best coaxial and how it compares it RG6U cable (the standard from local wholesaler)?

There are snap and seal connectors like these

Can these or something similar be got locally and what about this tool

Yes, good reading. Taken from Bill Wright's site (link at bottom of that page), and his own site makes for some interesting reading also. He has an excellent rogue's gallery!

Also worth having a look at satcure.co.uk. Recently got some stuff delivered from them.

The cable is now sorted. Thanks

I also asked about connectors and particularly compression connectors and tools for fitting.

Can anyone recommend a good source of these compression fittings and a tool for fitting?

Well. Any advice or are all you installers just using screw on types?

I use compression type plugs but I have not seen them available in retail outlets.

I generally use the compression connectors externally, and screw-on's internally.

If it's just for a bit of DIY work, I'd suggest you just get the screw-on's, as it'd be rather expensive to buy the compression tool, as well as the more expensive connectors for a small job or two.

Just be sure to use self-amalgamating tape for any outside connections (actually, I recommend this tape be used regardless of connectors used).

I have a good few to do and don't mind spending for a professional looking job so any advice on compression fittings would be welcome

There are a number of overseas suppliers for compression connectors on ebay.
