ok i like the shape of these little cars but no nothing about them. I have an MG ZR but usually just drive around the town, make the odd journey down to kerry but not that many, basically the mg likes the juice and i generally cant get higher then 3rd gear i feel its pointless owning it. so looking at a small car, punto, c2, panda etc.. any recomendations? and any info on he c2

    Here's the jist:

They're small, slow and not worth it. they're smaller than a C1, the Sensodrive is to be avoided, the 1.4 isn't as fast as it should be. I can't think of any reason to buy one over say, a 206 or Clio.

a 2005 c2 is €5000, a 2005 206 or clio is twice as deer. like the clios but hate the 206. my mate has a clio, theyre not that easy on juice either

Get a 1.4HDi - if you can find one. Seriously good fun.

anyone paying 10k for a 05 206 or Clio is mental. there are plenty cheap examples of both cars out there.

The C2 is a crackin little car. The 1.4 is rare enough over here, but if you can find a 1.4HDi model, buy it. Great car.

Without being overly argumentive, can you tell me one thing the C2 does brilliantly. it doesn't handle, accelerate, brake, look, feel, or hold together particularly well, What am I missing here?

Hey calm yourself down there buddy, thats just my opinion on it.

I've driven the 1.1, 1.4VTR, 1.6VTS, and the 1.4HDi. The 1.1 is underpowered, but if you buy a car like that speed isnt going to be your main concern. If you want to go fast, buy a Civic Type R. The 1.4 petrol and diesel variants are decent enough yokes to go, but the point above still remains.

The 1.6 is a great car to go, an engine of that size in a car thats the size of a shopping trolley?

They look the part, especially if you get one with the VRT kit, i think they look a lot fresher than the 206.

As for the breaking, there is four wheel ABS on every model, so if your having trouble stopping, maybe you shouldnt be going as fast. There is also EBD, and a brake-assist system on all models, with traction control on the 1.6, so there shouldnt be any problem stopping.

You havent driven the VTS HDI then. But good luck find one as from memory, there was only 1 officially imported.

you should do the maths on how much you plan on saving on 'juice' if your going to splash out on a newer car, the capital can quickly out weight any potential gains

cost of change V potential savings ????

i drive about 4 mies to work and 4 back. a little bit of driving on my days off but not much. i have to put 30€ a week in it to keep it going. Compare to my mam who drives about 20 miles to and from work. she does 40€ every fortnight, shes in an 03 megane, i dont want one of these because i find the position of the clutch very uncomfortable

No I haven't, but I've driven an SX and 2 VTRs, one being a Sensodrive. even if the 1.4 HDI was the most amazing engine ever (which it isn't) it wouldn't make up for the rest of the car.
