Which brake pads?

I have a pair of Tektro R556 extra long reach caliper brakes on my singlespeed (go ahead, fixie owners - hate me) but I'm not 100% sure which brake pads I need. Can anyone help?

The brake shoes are the "cartridge" style, so the pads slide into them and have a bolt that secures them once in place. I think these pads look right...

...but I can't see the far side of them so I don't know if they have a hole for a securing bolt!

(They're also out of stock, so I'd be grateful if you could point me in the direction of any other models that would do the job either. Thanks!)

The screw means they're shimano style pads.

These will do the trick as well.

I use Kool Stop salmon pads, great for the rain. CRC don't stock them at the moment.

Cheers, boss. By the way, CRC don't have much in the way of brake pads at the moment.

Cheers for the tip, hater. Tell me: if salmon pads are so good in the rain, why not use them all the time?

I would guess the trade-off is that being softer they wear down faster than the black ones.

I don't use them yet myself but I need new pads myself and as everyone else here seems to I will buy a pair just to fit in.

Yep, they are meant to wear quicker. Mind you, I just replaced my first pair. They lasted a year.

I got a set of the black kool stop pads a couple of weeks ago. They're absolute cack.

The dura ace ones are much better although I must try the salmon kool stop ones given that everyone seems to use them...

I don't think that BBB make brake calipers?

In any case, they are compatible with blocks that are held in with a pin, as opposed to blocks that are held in with a screw.

Fair play, I wasn't taking any chances coming down there and was braking like a mofo.

Sorry I have tektro calipers with BBB pads that have the pad that slips into a holder.
