I was just watching a dvd on my laptop when it just stopped working, then the computer crashed.

When I reboot I cant get the dvd to work and it doesnt show up in Windows Explorer. When I click on Windows Media Player it doesnt come up either and when I press eject on the side of the laptop it does nothing, no lights either .

How the hell can I get the dvd out now??

I have a Dell Inspiron btw...

Remove the battery and try again in a while.

There will be a pin hole on the cd/dvd drive, get a pin and stick it in, it will pop open for you.

    :D
Thanks for that, you're a lifesaver!

Now, my other question.. The whole dvd drive thingy is still not working.. Why did it stop all of a sudden and how do I fix it? Will it be expensive?

I got it at the start of Jan 08..

Did you remove the battery for 2 minutes and tried again?

Can you see the drive in BIOS? Can you boot from the drive or it's totally dead?
