I cant get in to f2
But they are all like gibberish to me,whats f2 for?
    Can any one help please?
it then showed your windows was closed down so that your computer would not be damaged.

Any advice or help thanks in advance :)

Have you tried to select start windows normally? If so, what happens when you do that.

Have you tried Safe Mode, will that load? If not, what happens?

Are you running XP or Vista?

The Compaq Armada is an oldish laptop....what OS are you running...it's probably something like Windows 2000 or even Windows 98...have you ever reloaded the OS...if not now is probably the time to do it...see if you can run Windows in safemode and backup all your data before you reload the OS...

Hi shqipshume. When your laptop blue screens does it stay on the blue screen of death (BSOD) or reboot straight away? If it reboots then we need it to stay on the BSOD to get the STOP error message being displayed. When you next start your laptop it should go to the screen with options for Safe Mode etc on it. One of these options should be "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure". Highlight this, hit Enter and let the laptop attempt to boot. When the next BSOD occurs it should stay up and not restart. Write down the STOP error message and post it up here please

Did any one add more memory( RAM) to it as I got that error the other night as I was installing some RAM which turned out to be faulty on my PC , and if the laptop was originally set to run on win98 it may not be able to see 2gb of ram.

    Hey no problem;)

That error message means either a failing hard drive or a messed up boot configuration. If you have an XP CD handy and a bit of time, use the steps here to try and get XP booting again. If that doesn't work for you then hopefully you know someone who can backup your data to another drive and reinstall XP on the laptop?

If the above steps don't work then your hard drive may possibly be knackered and need replacing.
