I have a 152cm board and am wondering would a 165 or 166cm burton or dakine bag be too big. Don't want my board rattling around on the plane?

Board bags normally come in one size. My setup is , 166cm bag , 156cm board. It won't be too big, and you can get your boots into it, or if you have a mate you can get 2 boards in it.

My bag is much bigger than my board but as said above it gives extra room for your boots or othe stuff.they usually have a string or lace at the top so you can tie it tight ,your board shouldnt rattle around if thats the case

As an aside to this - what should you look for in a board bag? Padded/non padded - I'm suprised that non-padded bags exist as I would have thought that this is the main feature! Wheels/no wheels, will I appreciate not having to lug it around the airport or is it an unnecessary extra expense? Any particular makes to go for or avoid? Cheers :)

Id go for a padded one i f possible.I dont have padding in mine but it fits perfect and ive never had any problems with mine. The bag helps carrying and awkward snowboard easier as its not too comfortable carrying a SBoard with the sharp edges. Not sure of the behind the scenes baggage arrangements but id assume when you leave your snow board in the oversize baggage area that it would be put ,gently, onto the plane.I havent had any damage done to mine yet and thats after 4 trips.

Mine is regular bag with shoulder holders that i just carry on my shoulder,it has no wheels, its a freestyle board so isnt heavy.
Im going ot meribel next week and the Travel agent are only charging 20 quid return for my board, alot less than paying the rent for a board

My first bag was too tight on the board and it got torn on the flight home. Best off having it a bit bigger tbh. Mine was a very basic bag though, no padding or anything.
