    hai folks,

Applied at the start of Jan and I have a date in Portlaoise for March 7th.

[I applied for Portlaoise cos I needed proof of test application before I could get my provo renewed]

Problem is a) I'm living and working in DUB and b) no guarantee I'll be in IRE [unless I book time off to take to go down home for it]

I'm going to take lessons up here so would I be better off taking the test up in DUB also?

At this stage I'm tired of having put off my last test [18 months ago] due to work and also tooling around with my third provisional is getting old now.

I would say go ahead and do the test in Portlaoise but where do you feel more comfortable driving-in Dublin or at home. If you take your lessons in Dublin do a pretest at home to familiarise yourself with the routes.

    Good luck!!!

Booked some lessons there today with BAC [i think, havent checked the email yet], block of 10.

Nice lady on the phone said prolly best to take the test where I'm getting lessons so I'll check what centres are near me tonight and change the test date.

    thanks guys

At least you'll probably be more comfortable doing it there, also it gives plently of time for practice and this nasty weather to go! Good luck anyhow!

Aside from a cramming the RotR, the day of the test, do I need the RSA letter or just the reference number?

Did mine last week and the tester asked for the letter and kept it!

I don't get why they ask questions about the rules of the road when all that stuff is already covered in the theory test...

Oh yeah, good luck with your test:)
