Galway Rat Race

    Hi Guys,
    I was thinking of entering the Galway Rat Race for the craic! Was wondering if anyone knew anything about it, or whats it like?

    I did it last Sept. You do need to be quite fit. I'd say we ran for about an hour and a half in total & cycled about 30 / 40km? Had to say exactly as I had an old mountain bike which made it all seam harder & I didn't have my computer thing on it. Theres lot of orienteering... I wasn't so delighted about that - but obviously some people would love that. I did have one friend who almost did it with us & didn't in the end - she's not fit at all and I'm glad she didn't do it. She wouldn't have been able for it. You do need to be moderatly fit. Not very fit though - it's not that hard either.

    It is good fun! We absailed off the round tower in Eyre Sq shopping ctr, swam in the sea in salthill, kyaked out in mean lough(spelling??) crawled through mud in Bearna ran around the city like lunatics and cycled everywhere in between. I'd recommed it for something different... who knows you might even get hooked - some people travel all over the UK doing them & loads of the people doing the Galway one had traveled from the UK. I can see why...
