    Hi,

I am considering buying a HDD media player to use with my Philips Flat screen.

I am a bit of a Noob to this scene but I was looking into a few.

I have seen several interesting ones. The Western Digital HD TV media player looks cheap and could attach to my existing external HDD and otehr peoples HDD's, which is handy.

The Argosy one looks good also.

However, I was specifically looking for one which can record programmes from NTL onto my HDD. Sometimes I may be out when and would like to have the ability to pre-set my Multimedia Drive to record programmes while I am out of the house. This Iomega Screenplay Pro HD multimedia drive appears to have that capability, but is a little more pricy:

Just wondering, are there any other products out there which have this capability? The Western Digital and Argosy products do not appear to have this ability. Ps. I am not very tech-savvy so apologies if I have completely mis-understood what these things can/cant do.

    I own the 1TB model.
Use it the NAS /Hdmi side of the unit more than the recording option. I did try when I used it first and was happy enough.
