    Hello all,

I cant seem to get my headphones working on my pc. Currently the sound comes from internal speakers on the monitor ( cable with green tips ) from the back of the pc to the back of the monitor. There is a headphone connection on the front of the pc but I cant get sound from it. The pc is brand new and im using Vista. Any suggestions guys:confused:

Depends on what software is installed on your PC, but my Dell has Realtek software and it is used to set up the various different options of what sounds are played and which ports are used. I can access the software by clicking on a speaker icon in the bottom right toolbar just beside the clock...

Disconnect the cable from the back of the system and then try the front socket.

Just tried that & it makes no difference.

I think it must be some setting in the sound options. Its currently set to speakers ( High Definition Audio Device ) Other options are

Digital output divice ( HDMI )
    Headphones
Digital output divice ( SPDIF )

Beside the Headphone icon it has a red arrow & it says 'not plugged in'.
