Had ths a couple of weeks now and it's a lovely player. It has been very very fast to startup from cold but today it's taking a lot longer. Where it was ready to use in under 10 secs now it's taking about 30 secs. It pauses at about 70% on the progress bar for most of that time. Anyone else seen this and should I be concerned? Nothing else changed - I didn't add any new vids or music in the meantime and there's about 9Gb free on it so it's not like it's full.

    hmm...odd

Mine takes about 3 seconds to start and that is with it almost full (think I have under 1gb free).

Have you upgraded to the latest formware?
One would almost think there is a corrupt file somewhere that it's having trouble reading. Maybe a factory reset and see if that cures it ?

Does a factory reset wipe the drive? Haven't tired the latest firmware yet. I really only noticed it because I was so impressed with the startup time that it took until this morning.

I think the problem might be some dodgy mp3 file. When I go to folders it doesn't display all the music folders - seems to show a random one each time. I can go into Artists and the other folders ok and video is fine too. Moving all the music off atm and then I'll see if it fixes it - then put back 1 album at a time until I find the dodgy one.

Might as well do a firmware upgrade while I'm at it too.

Wonderful - it's bricked. I upgraded the firmware - successful. Restarted - same slow boot. Deleted one folder in music and restarted - same. Deleted another folder in music - restarted and it hangs at 70%. I've left it 20 mins at that point now - no joy. Used the reset button at the back - restarted - same. ****!

interesting. After half an hour the box rebooted itself again and asked me for my region - full factory reset (without data loss). I've deleted all music and it's booting as quick as it used to be. Time to start putting some of it back on again :)

Sounds more and more like you have a dodgy file somewhere.

Lets hope you get no repeat.

Yeah it does. Or just some folder corruption had crept in. Looks like the factory reset/firmware upgrade has fixed it - I've copied most of the music back on to it now and it's still ok. *fingers crossed*
