dell inspiron screen problems

    dell inspiron 1501 vista. black line down through the screen and multicolured lines all over the scrren also. has anyone ever experienced this proble with this laptop or any other laptops. It is 15 months old and out of warranty. where should i go to get it fixed and is it even worth doing so? I dont know much about computers and any help would be appreciated........

    Sounds like physical damage (intentional or accidental) rather than a fault with the laptop model, and if it's out of warranty, it will likely be prohibitively expensive to have repaired. I guess, call dell, they'll tell you how to arrange to have it looked at, what this consultation will cost, possibly how much it will cost to have the screen replaced.

    Chances are, the cost of repair would be much the same as getting a new laptop.

    If you can get all you important data off the machine, I'd do that, before sending it off or anything.
