Front Derailleur Adjustment

So, the front derailleur setup on my new BeOne Storm wasn't perfect, even after a sevice, and I decided I could fix it.

I don't think the problem was the upper or lower limit screws, so I thought I should start again with fixing the derailleur to the bike. (the chain guide wasn't the right distance from the largest chainring, and wasn't parallel to it either)

When I went to the manual for reattaching it, it said that I needed a "pro set block". Looking at the picture, this seems to be a tiny cylinder used to hold the derailleur in the open position while you stick it on.

I don't have one of these, is there a way around it?

It's a brazed on mount, if that makes a difference.

The pro set thing is a little bit of plastic wedged in the derailleur if you buy it as a new part, I think to aid the alignment. It is removed once installed, so you wouldn't have it any more.
