Hi all ... Hopefully someone will have some advice on this for me.
I've been thinking about applying to the affordable housing scheme but im not sure.... seen as the house prices are supposed to be coming down, is the saving on the AH scheme as good as they once were ?? Also, I'd be buying on my own and I have a dependant so How would the mortgage work ?? Do I get it from the Local authority or from a bank and if it is from a bank do they treat mortgage applications for AH differently than a normal application ??
I've read the booklet about the scheme but it's all a bit confussing .... Can anyone put it simply for me ???
    Thanks

i can't answer your question but have you seen the discussions on affordable housing on www.askaboutmoney.com ? It's the 13th section down on the main page i think.

Just in relation to the AH scheme, is there any booklets or brochures avaliable to see the houses or apartments that they have, as the one on the websites dont show you much.

Im being offered places by Dlrcoco Park View for prices that are the same as the prices that the developers have slashed in the area and then was offered Rockbrook , rang the developers and they said they are going to have extremly competitive prices after easter Im going to hold off until this happens

The councils have to come out and slash their prices NOW by 30% 270k for a two bed for a single person is still alot of dosh should go down to at least 180k.
