I fell a lot of people who post hear asking about UCC have never been in cork before i think it would be better to compare UCC with other colleges
like UL or UCD etc to give them a picture of the lay out of the college and the surrouding accom and shops , Gyms how close to town, far from night clubs where is the best place for partys

I remember my first time on campus, overwhelmed and very easy to get lost.

But i guess thats the same at any college, it all seems so big and youre tryihng to take so much in at once.... (just realised how that came out, haha, no pun intneded).

I think that UCC is very central, e.g you could walk from the Amphitheatre to Grand Parade in fifteen minutes tops .

I didn't find UCC very big and difficult to comprehend at the start of the year at all to be honest, its fairly compact and extremely picturesque, there's nothing better than hanging out on campus in the presidents garden on a warm day.

The Mardyke arena is about ten minutes walk down across western road, and most student accomodation is max 25 mins walk away.

Compared to Ul, where you'd really want some form of transport even if staying in eg Groody Village, UCC is basically a perfect university city, (if you like a close proximity to everything)

Totally right. Everywhere's tightly bound in UCC. All places are within walking distance (bar the likes of the connolly building etc.; I don't go there.) It's really close to the city aswell. I don't mind walking in there at all, I time myself half the time. :P

Great image of UCC is at Summertime when everyone's outside and in the Gardens and the weather is sunny. Happy days.

I'm born and reared in Cork. From talking to friends who went away to cllege, UCC sounds far better. It's much closer to town and it's far easier to get around. UL is very removed from town.

Agree with all of the above. Bit of a pain walkin from main campus to brookfield or connolly, but neither is more than 10 mins away. Also, there are a few good places on campus to get food, hang out, study. The main campus itself is grand. It's great, I don't know of anyone who dislikes the campus, unlike CIT. (No offence to CIT, but I hear it's crap!)

Not really, most of 'em say this crap too. Seriously, ask one! Saying they're all violent might get you in a spot of bother though.

if thats what you want to call it. UCC food is real life mystery meat.

We need Jamie Oliver to pop in and teach those old women in the main rest a thing or two:)
