Alright they arn't really prank calls, their number appears on my phone and all they say is 'whos dis'. Then when I don't answer they hang up and send me a text asking something similar.

They did it last Saturday and again today. I really don't want to have some bored idiot asking me the same question again and again. If any of you want to keep them entertained so they stop ringing me then be my guest, their number is <SNIP>. If this is against the rules, I apologise, but not to the people ringing me.

Nah I don't think you're allowed to post up mobile numbers.

Just don't answer. they'll give up eventually or answer it and give a simple... "you've got the wrong number". Not that hard.

tbh, there could be a simple explaination for it. Did anyone borrow your phone recently to call someone ?? Maybe they saw your number in their call log, and just don't recognise it? Might explain why they're ringing your number back to find out.

If they are harrassing you they would surely block their own number from appearing on your phone.

    just a thought.

Tell them a meteorite must have struck the phone line

They do sound quite stupid, I wouldn't put it past them not to block there's. I have given my number out in places for work, I would guess that that's where they got my number from either that or just random calling.

Answer and then just put the phone down. Wastes their credit

If someone calls me and says "who's this" I have a standard response:

"You called me motherfcuker so you know who I am, and if you don't you fcuking will if you don't state your business. Make sure the next thing I hear is the sound of you hanging up or I am going to kill the man who made your glasses".

I change jobs with alarming frequency. Companies do not appreciate my phone manner.

Tell them the package is at the airport. Brown bag. Under the fifth seat.

what I might do is next time they ring and there's a guy around, I'll get the guy to answer and say "Hello, this is sargent _____"

Well if it is some crazy stalker that really wants to chop you up into burger meat then there is probably not much you can do about it so just enjoy yourself while you can. Maybe take that trip to Disneyland you've been promising yourself.

why wont ya just answer and say sorry you must have the wrong number. Then if they keep it up you will know their fools. Fairly standard .

Keep a clear written log of dates, times, number and what was said.

Take it along to your local Garda station and it will be dealt with.

There are laws on this that are relevant.

If the number is an unregistered mobile, it can be removed from the network.

Don't engage in conversation, hang up. Let your local Garda station know you're receiving the calls and start keeping a log.

Not true, bars will be placed or a change of number will be offered (depending on individual circumstances). The number will not be removed from the network.
