Suitability of LiPo

I'm considering getting a Lipo battery for a new AEG, the King Arms 11.1V LiPo and VFC SR16E3 respectively.
The problem is that the UNCompany website advises to use the LiPo with an AEG that has at least 350fps.
The SR16 is rated between 320 & 340 fps. The Lipo in question is the same as the one used in the KingArms M7A1.
So I'm wondering does the difference in power make that much of a difference or is the VFC gearbox perhaps
just up to the job of coping with the Lipo?

i do completely understand your post, the aeg your talking about at the advertised fps is illegal, a lipo would not make a difference to the fps output

from everything i've read the vfc sr16 is designed to be lipo friendly

similarly, i am wondering if it a good idea to use a 11v lipo battery with my aug A3? i know the gearbox is meant to be really good, but is it asking too much of it to use lipo and not strip gears etc? i have one already ordered, but i want to be sure its a good idea to use it. would rather lower rof and a working aeg. i should have asked before ordering. me not smart.

I think you partially mis-understood my description/question, to be honest I should have been more clear. With regards to the legality, I can understand the doubt because it is advertised at being possibly 340fps and hence very illegal. I have no intentions of importing a hot AEG, just indicating that the gearbox is advertised at being capable of handling that fps, and so by extension would it be capable of handling an 11.1v input without ripping itself apart? I'm fully aware the battery in question wont affect the fps. I'm more questioning the quality of the VFC gearbox?

The VFC GB is good, although it will strip eventually. If it's a high rof setup your looking at you'll need to change a few bits anyway, if not, then why don't you just use a 7.4 lipo?

The reason I was thinking of the KingArms LiPo is that it was a relatively simple and reliable option, assuming it wasn't too much of a risk that is:rolleyes:
I actually don't want that high of a rof. As long as it provides a standard rof and fits in the stock pipe I'm happy.
If you know any decent suppliers/brands that'd be great. I'm more than open to suggestions:D

if you're not after high rof but still want to use a lipo, just go with 7.4v. You'll get the same rof as an 8.4v nimh or possibly even better. Aside from stripping gears, you'll need to make sure you don't burn out the trigger contacts.

    7.4 2200mAH 25C is the equivilant of a 9.6 3300mAh nimh.

The thing about 7.4 lipo's for stock tubes is that all the ones currently available are pretty rubbish :( e.g Socom Gear's 7.4 1000mAh 10C one.

Anyone seen a table of lipo vs NiMh it would be nice to know which LiPo rating was equivalent/superior/inferior to our current NiMh setups.

Thanks for the help, I now think the 11.1v lipo would be way too powerful. From a little googling I can't see a whole lot out there that's of a somewhat decent quality. Guess I'll just have to wait:(
