I found this today and I thought it might be helpful for anyone new to linux. While the guide is written specifically for Ubuntu, most of what is said will apply to other distros too.

I bought his Ubuntu Kung Fu just before Christmas - it's a good book if you're a perpetual n00b like me, well recommend it.
