    Hi Everybody

I've been out of work for about 2 months. Got an interview out of the blue during the week & got a verbal job offer at the interview!!! It kind of hit me for 6 & requested that I get back to them with a decision on Tuesday. They were very agreeable & will keep it for me until then pending my decision.

Anyway package involves company vehicle, diesel card, mobile, laptop etc... as I will be a mobile worker & not office based for a large proportion of the job. The were a bit dodgy with the salary. The offer is about 25% below my expectations & I'm not being overly generous with my own evaluation of my skills, qualifications & experience. I'm pretty much resigned to settling for the salary offered as they have agreed to a 6 month review of this issue, I may chance askin for a couple of extra grand...

Other than that, what should I be asking for in relation to per diem, lunch evening meal allowances. What's typical practise?

Also I'm required to be on-site for certain portions of projects, so I will be away from home in remote areas & possibly abroad for periods of time. There was discussion of time off for incidences of absence from home. Anyone else have this type of experience before & what were typical arrangements with the employer.

All advice or shared experiences are gratefully appreciated!!!
