I think they are only obliged to to it to the nearest repair ctr. Also depends on the breakdown, IE if its a timing belt.

Its the alternater, it won't start. Can't be fixed but he wants it towed! He hasn't exceeded his call out limit, infact hasn't used them in years and there website terms and conditions say they tow you to your prefered destination in ireland so are they not breaking their own terms and conditins??

They should be covered for towing - I broke down before about an hour away from Dublin and they towed my car back to Dublin the next day. This was a few years ago.

I think its terrible that they pick and choose what service to provide. He has a van and is always on the go so keeps his membership renewed and paid up just in case!! They have towed him before so why not this time????

Are they supposed to tow your car home?

Also is there any charge for towing the car home or does the membership cover all the call out fees. Also once you pay the membership fee does that cover all the costs in the event of a break down. How many call outs can a member make?

Keep us updated on this, I'm pretty sure I've been told that even if I'm in London, they'll tow me to Holyhead to get the ferry back, so Waterford to Wicklow surely they'll do?

Only with Rescue Plus. With the normal one, the distance is much much shorter.

Yeah, I've got Relay Plus and broke down in Belfast once. They collected the car, paid for first class return tickets on the Enterprise, dropped the car to an Audi dealer where it was fixed and paid for taxis to take me to and from the train station. It all depends on the level. I have heard of people not being covered as they are at their home address but never because they are away from their home.

Yeah, I think you need home start and rescue plus for the full coverage. When you get your next renewal, check the price against the price on the website for signing up for a new account, they tried to charge me about 100 euro more to renew, I told them about the new account charge and said it'd be better for me to cancel and sign up a new one, so to save us both the trouble, just give me this year for the same price and they did.
