Why do the Omniplex group put their movies on at such rubbish times?

I've always been curious about this one. They generally like to do three screenings a day per day of a particular movie usually focused around the hours of 2 , 5 and 8. Now that layout might be convenient for the projectionist but I can't imagine it's great for a lot of people working in town who might want to see a movie after work?

I'm a fan of the screen and the savoy and I'd like to be able to pop in there to see a movie straight after work but due to their schedule its usually impossible. I'd imagine this is the same story for a lot of other people working the city who get off at around 5-530pm? No chance of seeing anything in their middle screening and the 8pm+ are too long a wait to bother hanging around for.

It's not as tho they're exactly turning away business either so why do they compound things by putting their movies on at such useless times? Maybe someone who works or worked there could shed some light on this one?

I always go to the savoy and screen and I think their movie times are great. I'm a student so they suit me but I see your point about the 5 shows being to soon after most people finish work. Have you emailed them regarding this?

Ye might be in that boat on your own

It could be statistically the least busy time, as most people cant get home fast enough after work, and town generally empties out at that time

    Try Cineworld!

Student here also, Santry Omniplex is my cinema of choice and the times suit me down to the ground.

I do remember missing a show once after work and the next show wasn't for another 2 hours, which was crap but I would rarely go straight from work to the cinema and maybe that's the way omniplex are looking at it?

They might be thinking people would rather go home, have dinner & change and then head to the cinema perhaps for a late showing
