Hi AR , you picked a bad night to be looking for information about a weather station :D , all the lads glued to the charts right now  ,
its the usual case of you get what you pay for i guess , that argus WS
gives two basic readings , outdoor temp/baro , and tbh its impossible
to tell how accurate those readings will be , on the other hand having
spent app 500e on one of the more upmarket models last Nov i find that
a similar model to yours purchased in aldi a year earlier is actually reading
very and i mean very similar to its more expensive cousin .

http://www.ukweathershop.co.uk/index.html in the meantime take a look
around this site and consider some of the options perhaps , hope this helps .

Think so or at least gives indoor temp. i am new to this so can't tell much. I started looking for a clock that would give house temp and ended up looking at weather stations that tell the time;);)

If you wanted to push the boat out a little you could go for one of these:
    http://www.ukweathershop.co.uk/acatalog/info_2_ES_WS2300.html

    :D

Cheap enough for what it is, I've had it for a year and a half and its served me well with no problems at all.

If its just basic indoor/outdoor temp that you want then I guess the one you linked to is fine. Keep your eye on Lidl also, they have them from time to time, they were supposed to be quite good actually.

That is a nice one too. Where do you put the external part. On a wall? With what ?

The wind direction/speed part you have to put on a pole, so it needs to be resonably high up and away from any object which may cause interference, such as buildings, trees etc etc. The rain guage also has to be clear of any items and left on a flat surface. The outdoor termometer would want to be fixed to a north facing wall (I believe). There is a cover that comes with the thermometer but its not supposed to be much use. You'd have to make some sort of a screen for it, I made a Stephenson screen for mine from wood, you can equally make one from those flower pot plastic trays, I've seen it done.

Here's how I set up my wind/rain guage....

The weather station requires a bit of work to install to be honest, but once its all done you'd have a pretty good (obviously not up to Davison standard) station that'll give you a lot of info.

At the moment now I can watch the wind direction, the temp and most important the dew point (which is critical for snow), so, I dont need much else for now ;). The basic indoor/outdoor stations wont give you wind direction, speed, dew point or wind chill.
