Ive had a look around, but can anyone tell me is there a handy and non damaging way to discharge batteries after play.? I have a so called smart charger which discharges them but it takes forever. And i want to charge em for tomorrow.

simple way is small 9v light bulb and wire it to a connector.

tbh i never discharge my battery (gasp) i use it 1 - 2 times a week and when its fekked im gonna blow the 20 odd quid for a new one. too much time and hassel for standard batts imo.

Apparently your suppose to discharge nicds but ive heard that ppl just use them the same as nimhs eg. charging them when there needed without discharging them and they work fine. Dont know anything about li-pos. Heres a good charger/discharger that i got from airsofteire. http://www.airsofteire.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=218&category_id=12&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
Discharges a battery in about 15mins or less.

"Nimh Rechargeable Batteries have almost no Memory Effect. Nimh have a different internal chemistry and are not as susceptible to the same “memory” problems as NiCds. In fact Nimh batteries can and should be charged from any discharge state. This is a major advantage of Nimh batteries over NiCd. If your Nimh batteries performance is no longer acceptable use the conditioning feature of your charger to help restore performance."

    In addition:
"It is not necessary to discharge a NiCd before each charge. A full discharge to one volt per cell once a month is sufficient to keep the crystal formation ["memory" - Maca] under control."
