I have absolutely no desire to see this film whatsoever, looks like more of the same regurgetated teeny rom-com crap tbh, and from all indications it's even bland for these type of films.

Also completely lost all faith in Michael Cera who has basically replicated his Superbad performance once again.

why fix something thats not broken? people love him for that cute, akward teenager thing he does.

i didnt think it was bland, it actually had some very funny moments, and caroline is a very fuuny charactor

He's been playing the same character for his whole career thus far. It was good in Arrested Development, it was old in Superbad.

I liked it but mainly because that drunk chick cracked me up.

Cera and Dennings (her face creeps me out sometimes) were ok, not great.

Watched this last night. It was watchable, but it tried so hard to be super-hip and 'indie' that it was just painful at times. For the 'cool' factor, think Juno times fifty (I liked Juno, even). The same referencing of 'cool' indie bands is there in droves, not only that, but a bunch of contemporary indie musicians make cameos, to cringe-worthy effect.

Michael Cera again played himself; an utterly boring, awkward, 'quirky' character who 'is actually an amazing guy once you scratch beneath the surface', but who is ultimately very difficult to sympathise with.

It's basically a really boring, done-to-death love story set against the back-drop of the worst of New York hipster culture. With Cameos from artists who, some of them at least, I'd have thought would have known better.

    It's cooler than thou, man.

yeah, Cera is a very rigid actor.

Am looking forward to seeing this, as I love both the main leads in it from their earlier prgrammes.

I know Cera seems typecast as an awkward teenager, but he may as well get as much out of it as possible, before he becomes an official adult :P

As long as he finally agrees to the Arrested Development movie, there won't be any problems...

He's typecast but he's a good actor, he's definitely got something. Time's on his side too.

My main problems with this film are as follows...

    - The cringe factor of the recording studio scene causing me to almost throw up in my popcorn. I know it's a film, but come on, that would never happen.

    - The absolute unbelievability of the love story. No tension, no build up, nothing. Just boredom.

    - Michael Cera playing that guy again. Stop it for the love of all that is holy, take some acting lessons and do something else...please.

    - Also I spent the whole thing trying to figure out how school age kids have access to so many hipster New York clubs....

Im actually interested in seeing this for the simple reason that I was supposed to be in the test screening for this movie in California when I was over there. Unfortunatly I didnt arrive early enough to get in (they invite at least twice the amount of people they need). I ended up seeing Hancock instead!

If I had been in there the movie would have turned out so much better:D

Me too on the hipster club front. When I was there, pretty much doing the same thing at CMJ I found they were all super anal about IDs, etc.

To summarise it in one word - "cutesy".. but passable entertainment.

Not too demanding, a couple of giggles, some "decent" music and good performances from Cera and Dennings.

Liked the soundtrack. Getting sick of Cera. Time for him to try something different.
