I guess they are dying breed like P and P but Just wondering what are peoples view on the best. I plan on taking my nephew around some now. He's just turned 9 and I gave him a set of my old Mizuno's irons. He's grown up on P and P. So I guess it's easing him into the proper golf. His short game has really come in the last year or so. So time to work on the real stuff as he says.

Haven't played that many but I have very fond memories of Pine Valley up in the Dublin Mountains. Closed down a while back cause of the construction of the M50. Twas a real shame as I used to live down the road from it and back then used to play there most days in the summer. Had many a good time and there were some real cracking holes - 4th, 5th and 11th immediatedly spring to mind. Was in a alright condition, some of the greens espically the 11th were well dodgy but still a great test of long iron and short play.

I actually played Marley Park a few months back), twas a kip and insanely boring round(only 9 holes)

I hear the one up in Blanch isn't too bad. But never played it myself.

try Puck castle , no great shakes but its tough enough I suppose. The only other two are Glen Mills in wicklow , lovely little par 3 kept as well as any you will come across and a real good challenge. Other one is Stepaside, not bad and will help his game.

Out of these three hit Glen Mills, worth the extra drive !!

The nine hole at the heritage at Killenard is top class. very golf course like with proper tee boxes and run up area's to the perfect green's. 30 min down the N7 so not far to travel.
