For planning applications, the list of required documents is 6 copies of drawings containing elevations, site layout maps etc...

    My question is:

Do you guys for getting the OSI maps, buy digital copies and if so How much do they cost?

Do yo buy paper copies and scan them to your computer and then draw your house onto the map? How much do the paper copies cost?

Are photocopies of these maps acceptable?

In the drawings, should there be a map just showing the outline of the house and another drawing showing the house with septic tank and percolation area, ditches, watercourses, boundarys, neighbouring properties?

Sorry for all the questions but any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

You can buy a paper version for 55 euro. You just need to mark up the site outline on this map (1:2500 for rural areas)
You then need a more detailed site layout at 1:500 min showing house location, all features including sewage system, drains, drives, sight distances, site levels etc.

If you buy the 'paper copies', you will buy a planning pack containing 6 copies of the maps.
Unless you have a licence from the OSI, you cannot reproduce them/ photocopy them for planning permission purposes.
You get the OS maps at 1:1000 for urban areas, and 1:2500 for rural areas.

    personally i use both...

usually digital in urban areas where theres a likelyhood of another application close by... i think these cost in the region of €110 by the time you factor in the copyright fee... but you can print as many as you want...

in rural areas usually a hardcopy planning pack is purchsed... A4, 6x1:2500 and 1x1:10560 costs about €50 on average....

i scan these these in and convert the bmp to dxf....

I had a planning application returned because I forgot to put in one further copy of the 2 location maps in with one of my 6 planning copies. Problem is though, I seem to have lost the 2 maps. Am I right in assuming if I simply photocopy the 2 maps from the others that the planners will send them back? Also, what would it cost to get 2 os maps from osi?

    You are probably correct.

Go back to OS map shop where you bought the original planning pack, explain as above (lost 2 original maps). Give them a ring and they might post sticker out to you.

They should be able to sell you two OS stickers circa €5 each, which can be stuck on two photocoies of the missing maps.
