thats great news. Believe Fergal won his first fight by submission...trying to get through to 'em for the rest of the news. Anyone else know how the rest of the results went for any other Irish lads or lasses?

Just to put a 'before and after' on Andy's lads..

Here's the very first SBGnorthside class to take place in Finglas.

Its nice to see the great public response from the main players in the BBJ/ MMA Circuit in Ireland towards the lads fantastic achievement abroad at the Europeans - or LACK OF RESPONSE !!!!

    Congratulations lads - excellent work.

Ps. Does this congratulations feel slightly tarnished now due to Garry's guilt-inducing post? :pac:

Yes, well done all the members of the team! :) I can safely say that the level of blue belts out there was very high (Our own team included.) Its amazing to see how far the level of bjj has come on over tha years ive been doing it, both nationally and internationally. Watching the black belt section was a sight to behold. (I look forward to the day when i can pull off jumping guard and pulling off an arm bar upside down.:p) And well done Wayne for beating me by a sneaky take down! The guy mr Fagan was beaten by in the final of the super heavy was a machine, and Wayne did well to control him for a large portion of the fight. Im 100% certain he was due for his purple VERY soon. Thanks to the guys for their quality performances, support and also for their company on a decent weekend away. We shall endevour to get a hotel on the same side of town next time!

Im not feeling any love in the room here!!!

truth be told, the guys went over at their own expense,as a team and in my opinion did better than even they expected.I for one am proud of their acheivements and it does show how far Irish jiu jitsu has come in such a short time.............

Im not one of the 'main players' but fair play to the guys...well done.

How did Alan do Tim? The blue belt categories in the adult division seem monstrously difficult.

Alan missed his weight by 0.4 I think it was on one scales (he was under weight on another) and got DQ'd for it.
