Just read the magazine, and was a little surprised by the overall winner the new Ford Fiesta, just wondering what people think, it seems odd that a Jag XF won last year, yet this year (recession....etc) a car thats far cheaper has won, hmmm ?

If its proper magazine, they were looking at price/quality ratio. And to be honest i am not surprised.

I dont like small car personaly, but i would loveto have a new fiesta S-zetec.

Have seen a few around aswell. Nice looking and reasanable price aswell.

I've seen about 8 different new Fiesta's at this point. That's 80% of new cars i've seen. Looks well on the inside, not a bad wee car.

Not surprising as they've been giving it great write-ups and have been saying for a while that it would be a big seller and worthy of the european car of the car award, which it almost won.

Its that far ahead of the last couple of versions of the Fiesta that it deserves it. Looks a cracking car, where I wouldn't have recommended the old one to anybody.

I test drove a new Fiesta Zetec S the other week. It's an impressive car.

Mechanics aren't generally known for their taste in cars, to be perfectly honest.

Anyone know the best seller so far this year? I reckon it could be the Fiesta. Most of the 09's I've seen were Fiesta's. Was in Abernethy's the other day in Midleton and there was a load of 09's parked up there with sold stickers on them.

Had a sit in one and was impressed. Still has the nice short throw gearbox too...ah memories:D

Shows the Irish mentality to only buy Ford/Toyota/Volkswagen. The new Fiesta's sister car was out last year, the Mazda 2, every bit as good, and largly ignored. (although they're probably one of Mazda's better sellers, there are a few around).
