It's 20.32 1hr and 17 minutes after sceduled departure another 30 minutes at least, signal failure in Adamstown and an apparant train breakdown in Monesterevin are the reported causes. I know trains breaks down but what kind of contingency plan is this?

What do you want from them? A second line?

If it's a once off then sh!t happens. Of course if this is a regular occurance then something needs to be fixed.

Random, delighted for the very useful response, you work for Irish Rail Customer services?

I just think it's amazing that a train breaking down can hold up all deparures from Hueston for 90 minutes

Nope, I don't work for Irish Rail customer servces.

In terms of "useful", what sort of response did you want?

well at least a lorry didn't fall off the back of it and you weren't stuck for over a day.....

If youre delayed by over an hour you're entitled to get a claim for for a refund. ask at the station next time you're there for the form and fill it in.

This is why I would never even consider using a train in this country, when it goes wrong, they are worse than useless.

well if a train brakes down in the middle of nowhere and the nearest maintenance depot is miles away, you have to expect delays by the time they get there ,get access through fields diagnose the problem then try and fix it

Prob to go out and fix it for him.

With the Kildare Route Project finishes it might solve problems like this with its dual track
