    http://cgi.ebay.ie/GHD-repair-repairs-for-faulty-broken-damaged-ghd-irons_W0QQitemZ220306398844QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item220306398844&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1308

thats the guy i used, twice.. both times the ghd's were returned to me within 10 days of me posting them , fully repaired and with a note of the repairs he made (fixed price for any number of repairs)

    plus its really cheap
    definitely recommend him :)

    I used this guy: www.ghdrepairs.ie

He charged me €25 to replace the lead on my GHD, I had it dropped down to him and collected on the same night. It was only a 5 min job. The lead he put on my ghd works BUT it is a very cheap lead and plug. If the iron plates were to go anywhere near it it would melt. The person who dropped it down said to the guy thats a ridiculous price for the work you just did and the guy said 'well she knew the price before she paid..'

I didn't pursue it further with the GHD guy but wished I had haggled or asked more questions about the quality lead I was paying for in the first place..buyer beware girls!

I used these guys and found them very good - they also repair generic brands as well as just GHD's.

    They are based in Killester.

Hi, I am having the same problem with my ghd, I have to wrap the lead around the plug to make it work. Not keen on sending it off, so does anyone know of anyone in Cork who can repair them?
    Thanks

Where did you purchase your GHD? My sister works in Peter Mark and she said they always get ghds returned and they give out new ones. She is based in Galway but if you had a receipt for it and go in they will replace it for you. Or alternatively if you no someone who just bought a ghd recently use their receipt. Maybe its just their store that are very laid back but she said they replace them all the time as it makes no difference to them.

Really I thought they just gave a discount off the new one? I cant really complain about getting a new one, have this about 7 years tbh, so def dont have the receipt.:)

thundercatho (love the username by the way!) your wife should still get in contact with GHD or wherever she bought it from. My GHD broke a few years ago and I rang Peter Marks and it turned out it was from a faulty batch and was replaced in a few days, no bother at all.

Pixied - I got my GHD repaired in Cork earlier this year and had the same problem - really crappy replacement lead, it was constantly getting knotted and tangled and drove me crazy. I ended up buying a new GHD because I'd had the old one a few years and I felt the plates were tugging my hair anyway. I wouldn't get mine fixed by the same crowd again, it cost €35 and I'd be prepared to pay that for a decent repair but this was really not worth it.
