My plan for live events this year is to hit maybe 2 or 3 festivals that offer a decent spread of mostly daily tournies, with moderate buy-ins say ranging from an absolute minimum of €300 to a max of €2k. Basically enough for me to worthwhile to go there but not so much that i'm forking out too much on any one event.

The Paris Open of Poker http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/festival.php?a=r&n=5770 would be a good example of what would interest me - but I'm probably going to give it a miss as the dates don't exactly suit.

Anyways maybe some of you more regular live tourney players might know some good festivals that would fit the bill.

I got an email from dusktildawn in nottingham the other day, the're running three festivals this year.
I haven't been yet myself, but i've heard good things about the place.
I'm thinking about heading over to the first one in May,super structure(2hr clock,20k starting stack) with a £250k guarantee main event with a £1000+75 buyin.

You'll find the details here http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/festivalinfo.php?id=21

For me it's a non-runner coz of the location. No direct flights from Lisbon. Also I was thinking more along the lines of a series of one day events, with maybe 1 Main Event of 2 days thrown in. Not sure whether there's other events at this but didn't get the impression fromn the dusktilldawn website.

    Thx for the info anyway.

Did you check the GUKPT, its probaly one of the best in Europe at this stage, Vienna also holds a lot of events. Get one of the poker mags, its lists all the events over Europe by month for the year

    Cheers.

Yeah that looks alright actually. Though I probably won't be able to make that one. Salzburg is a really nice city too.

Some of the GUKPT events are an option, though not all of them are handy for me to get to. I'm kinda thinking more mainland Europe tbh, but still there's an odd chance I might make one. Vienna could very well be an option alright. There and Paris I'd say are the two handiest cities for me.

Barry you would enjoy the London GUKPT leg its a £1500 event this year and some good side events, pretty sure it is on around the end of March

Just looked at that Fran, it has a great series of side events alright. Pretty much bang on for what I'm looking for. I'd play most of them if I went and depending on how they went I'd decide whether to play the main event or not. The next couple of months for me are a bit up in the air though coz of this house we are restoring here in the stix of Portugal, that's why I'm doubting if I could make the Paris or Salzburg events and the same could go for this London event. But if I can negotiate that I'd defo be interested in this.
