one parent benefit

I am getting one parent family benefit paid directly into my bank account weekly. I was only working part time for the last few years, and was earning very little.
I started a job at the start of november, and i rang the social welfare to tell them, the told me to send them a letter from my employer and a cover letter from me stating how much i am earning etc, so i did that. and about a month later they sent me a form to fill in, about my earnings, maintenance and people living with me (living at home with parents) so i sent that back, this was about 2 weeks ago..
    but...

    THEY ARE STILL PAYING ME!!!
Despite me telling them in november that i am working! they continue to put in the full amount.
Its hard not to touch it, as i get no help from my daughters father and had to buy all christmas presents for her myself. Communion around the corner, so that can get expensive too. I am only earning 360 a week..and i have to pay for my keep at home and childminder while at work etc..

can anyone tell me what to do!
are they going to come back to me and tell me that i have to give them back over 220 x 10 weeks?

Fair dues to you for working on small wages with no support. Make sure you put in for retaining your medical card and FIS. That might bring you up a good bit.

Generally they are likely to deduct it from any future payment or add it to your tax bill so it gets divided out. Give them a shout and make sure they've put through the forms, I suspect with the unemployment avalanches there may be a severe backlog on this kind of stuff also.

There is a huge misconception that people on One Parent Family can work 19 hours and it wont affect their payments. This is not true. It doesn't matter how many hours a week you work, the deciding factor is how much you earn.

You can earn up to €425 per week and still keep part of your allowance. The first €146.50 per week is not counted. If you pay rent or mortgage and get maintenance from the child's other parent, this is also taken into account. So it could be that everything is fine.

But, if you have let Social Welfare know, well then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You have filled your part of the bargain by informing them, and your earnings will be reviewed anyway, at least annually. So stop worrying!

yeah thats spot on one parent family is done on earnings not hours.now that ur working they will take a reduction out of ur OFP payment based on your wages.when they do this apply for FIS (you can get both) it will be based on your net income and your OFP payment on the date of application.

In my past employment, (part time) i was never taxed on anything i earned, there were no deductions made..i presumed it was because i was on the one parent family benefit. but now since starting this job, i am getting deducted..about 15 euro a week! anybody tell me why this is happening?
