    Hi there.
newbie here so please bear with me.
I have a medical card for the past number of years and started work at the end of last year. From reading the revenue website I think I'm paying PRSI contriubutions above what I am supposed to pay.

If this is the case how do I go about claiming back my Prsi? Who should I ring?

If it is the case that I do re-claim my a portion of my prsi will it come back to affect me if I fail to get my medical card renewed? Will my Prsi charges be higher?

I really find it difficult to understand all the ins and outs of the revenue!

    Any help please!

As your employer is responsible for deducting your prsi you could query the rate you are on with him/her. If you are not happy with their response contact Social & Family Affairs as revenue do not deal with PRSI unless it is related to a refund on a pension. The number for the PRSI section within the Social & Family affairs is 01 6732586. They are based at Oisín House, 212-213 Pearse Street, Dublin 2.
As far as I know, the rate of PRSI you pay is not related to whether you have a medical card or not. :)
