installing digi receiver

    hi i have cancelled my sky account ,but still have the sky dish on my roof.a friend has given me a receiver that takes in free channels ,;TRIAXdigital satellite receiver TX10,.im told i can just hook it up and im ready to go .is this correct or do i have to tune in channells and if so how do i proceed.also what channells can i expect to receive.i would be gratefull for any feedback from the teccies out there .thanks

    If it was last used to pick up the free channels then it's as simply as hooking it up and turning it on!
    If not then you will have to do a scan and reorder the channels where you like, it's not difficult.

    The channels you will receive are listed here, look under the column Freesat, ignore the channel numbers though:

    Yep, just hook up the reciever to the dish, do a auto scan for channels and you'll get a decent range of channels...
    BBCs ITVs, film4, more4 etc etc.

    i was under the impression that i would receive RTE channels but from reading posts that seems unlikly ,can i put rabbit ears in attic and still hook it to my tv aswell a satellite.

    Yes you can, just connect the rabbitas ears directly to the tv's aerial socket.

    Of course you can but they wont be on the Sky box. They will be on the internal television tuner.

    astra eurobird is the sat im tuned in to .i scanned all channels ,im getting perfect radio stations .when i go to tv settings it shows available channels for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes blank anybody know what i have done wrong thanks:confused::confused::confused::confused:
