Hi, I've completed New Super Mario Bros and loved it. I'm looking for a game like this to replace it for me. I dont like games where you need to use the touch pad to move. Any suggestions?

Because New Super Mario Bros is so good it's very hard to recommend a replacement.

Mario64Ds is pure genius, and still wonderful.
    Exit DS is pretty good.
    Trackmania DS is awesome.
Metal Slug 7 also worth a go.

Contra 4 is excellent as well but you'll have to get it on import. It's also very hard. Well very hard compared to games nowadays but if you aren't used to old school toughness you may give up on it before you get used to it and see it's genius.

    Really?!?

Is it not just a ported Mario64 Game? Is there any significant changes?

It's just a portable version of Mario 64 with some tiny new areas and a game killing bug that stopped me from getting every star in the game :( Still a great game though.

Yoshis Island and Super Princess Peach have already been mentioned.

If you love a good cutesy platform-style game with a long challenge, I recommend Kirby Canvas Curse. Yes it uses the touch screen, but its a very clever control system. Problem is its a few years old, so it might be tricky to find.

If its Mario you are after go for Mario 64, its a port but like a true classic just as good today as it was back then. If you are prepared to take a punt on the internet try and find a copy of Super Mario World for the GBA on Ebay or Amazon. The best 2D Mario game without a doubt.

    Hi Maddison.

You probably should just start a new thread with this question so that people will see it because its going to be lost here.

Maybe try amazon and play for merchandise.

Does he have a DS and a Wii console? There are piles of mario games available. Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii, Mario Soccer, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games and in the next few weeks Mario Tennis will be out.

The DS has New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart, Mario 64, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

Does he have all those games?

Also be aware that the DS is backwards compatible with game boy advance games and there are even more great mario games available from that system.

Yep have a look on ebay for the Mario advance games (there's 4 of them) and mario and luigi for the Gameboy advance, they will work on the DS. Also if you have a Wii you can play old Gamecube games on it. Super Mario Sunshine and Super Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door are well worth getting. Also if you can get the Wii online you can buy the old mario games like Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario RPG Super mario world etc.

If you want some mario merchandise you are better off looking to japan for some. www.play-asia .com have a good range but sometimes postage is steep if you don't order a lot of stuff and it's bulky.

Oooh thanks for the info but he has all the DS games & the Wii games (hes our only child so we do tend to spoil him a bit!)I tried the play-asia website but nothing is coming up....saw lots on Ebay such a the gameboy games & the cube games.....oh soooo wish I had a credit card!I only have Laser unfortunately.Im mainly looking for clothing, anything for his Mario themed bedroom, toys etc....:( why cant my child like Spiderman??!!

Ah now Mario is much better :)

There's a few plush toys and such on play-asia. I just did a search for mario and there was pages of stuff.

    For t-shirts try this website:

    http://stylinonline.ecommerce-site-search.com/?page=1&catalog=stylinonline&query=mario

There's a few pages of t-shirts there and I've bought off them before.

Hot topic have some really nice stuff as well:

    http://search.hottopic.com/search?p=Q&lbc=hottopic&uid=737606219&ts=custom&w=mario&method=and&isort=score&cnt=96

You'll need a credit card though. Best to sort yourself out with one. If you can't get one then try a 3v card.

I seem to remember smyths had mario kart remote cars that were really cool.

And yet again he has all of them!!As soon as something comes out over here I practically run straight out the door! Next were doing Mario Kart pajamas but they seem to have sold out....I cant understand why the likes of Dunnes etc are not picking up on how sought after Mario has become! I remember when I was a kid and we had the Nintendo Mario was all the rage & you could get everything!!Ughh Im so frustrated....wish I could get over to Hong Kong where I could Mario shop to my hearts content :)

Dealextreme is your man. It is a cheap site in China with free shipping, they sell lots of cheap tat, I order from the all the time, you pay via paypal and they are pretty good on shipping, many here use them.

    http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.mario

www.focalprice.com do lots too. I have not ordered from them ever but they get OK reports, just type in mario.

Others I have not tried are
    http://www.ledshoppe.com/
    http://kaidomain.com/
    http://www.sourcingmap.com/

You can also get special paper to print on and it can then be ironed onto clothes. If you are handy at photoshop you could put his face on the t-shirt with mario, or his name etc.
