It's like the internet knows us or something...

    http://www.europeloton.com/2009/01/great-cycling-shoe-debate-whit-looks.html
In 2008, white was undoubtedly the most popular color in the European peloton. many teams had white as the dominant color in their uniforms, and most Euro cyclists chose white as the color for their shoes as well. Some though stuck with a black motif for their footwear, and as 2009 approaches, the question is whether black will make a comeback and be worn by more pros.

    Is there a shift coming?

But you're just driving everyone mad with desire... you know I don't like wearing the heels on the Saturday spins, but now everyone will want to see me in them -and they aren't even white!

Both pairs of shoes Raam posted are mountain bike shoes, the rules are different there.

    I vote for black

    Get a room!

It will always be white I'm afraid, although those red ones are quite fetching.

i'd rather not have feet than wear black cycling shoes. white all the way.

Lance prob thinks his black shoes match his bike... maybe so, but still looks pance.

I won't hear a word said against my Lance, the man is a hero and sets the trends, doesn't follow them.

I thought he looked like a postman that got caught up in the peloton on the tour down under, those black shoes are just not cool.

Didn't stop him winning several stages and almost clinching the GC.

there's clinching the GC, and then there's almost clinching the GC in the TDU. but there were stage wins... i'll give him that, despite being back in 2005.

btw he'll have a tough time starting a trend with these specs...

Black is classic and timeless, white is a fashion...As for preferring to have no feet than wear black, would make cycling a bit difficult wouldn't it? So if you're saying you'd rather not ride a bike than ride one with black shoes then thats just putting fashion ahead of getting out there on your bike and sorry but thats just wrong!

Personally I couldn't care less if someone is wearing luminous green (now theres a thought :) ) as long as we all keep the sport going...

But I draw the line at black socks

    Nope, SPD stumps FTW!

You'd need different frame geometry though, since the centre of rotation of your stumps would be about six inches further forward.
