Paypal WTF

Hi I had a pending receipt since last December of £130 in lieu of a refund from British retailer. I set up paypal. So I verify my account and cash out to my current account on 17th Dec. Still no sign on my current a/c statement

I didn't think anything of it until now with the whole 8-10 day release time etc so I called paypal. I've gotten through 4 times now. Given all of the details then put on hold for a 'few minutes'. Then every time I'm put on hold it hangs up after a minute. This is really starting to piss me off..

The worst thing is the language barrier. It takes 10mins to get across your problem to these Eastern European ladies that all sound the same. The first lady insisted that she couldn't understand my Ref # so I had to call it out in Alphacode (had to google this). Then the last lady told me to wait a further while as it was only the 28th Dec (WTF) and that it had only been 11 days.

I wish they really did record these calls for training purposes. Anyway, what more can I do? Are they just fobbing me off? It took me 6 months to get the initial refund from the original seller and now this?

Thank God it's not a bigger amount.

So you paid for something with paypal, the money was refunded back to you from the seller. After a while you did a transfer of the refunded money to your bank?

If the above is correct your money should be in your account within a few days from what I read is been over a month, something must bve wrong if that's the case, double check to make sure you have the correct account detals.

How was the sourcing of the money use to make the initial payment? Assuming seller went to paypal and did a Refund (not sent money), if the money was already in your paypal account it gets refunded to your paypal account, if the money was taken for your credit card the refund should go back to your credit card.

Ok should've clarified this. Item was paid for using my BOI Visa last May to the retailer through a paypal form as I didnt have an account at the time. (They don't except non UK cards for some reason). I rejected courier as it was ordered in error (mine, got wrong size part for my car). They agreed to a full refund but only through paypal, so I set up my paypal account and verified it. I converted it back to euro on 17th Dec as I got the best rate and cashed out to my current account on the same day. (They wouldn't pay back into my credit card account).

By my reckoning thats about 6 weeks ago and is unacceptable. It isn't in my current or paypal account (paypal says transaction complete). It seems as if the money has just disappeared. I've double checked my Banking 365 and forwarded them a copy of my bi monthly statement.

Is it possible at all for the UK Retailer's payment to 'bounce' or be retracted similar to a cheque?

Do paypal cover mistakes like this or is it my word against theirs? I'm after wasting about an hour of my life and €15 call credit trying to get an answer to no avail.

Has anyone had this happen before?

It has happened to people before. your not the first :)

do you have a withdrawal to your bank account which is complete in your history ?
"pending receipt" confused me from the first line.

If you have forwarded Paypal a copy of your bank statement assuming they asked you to do that then you would have told them that a withdrawal from Paypal to your bank account did not get to your account.
everything is tracked so paypal should pay you back.
(i hope your 100% sure that you put in the right bank account number!)
