When i went to check the oil in my car I noticed that there was a kind of white/cream coloured "glump" on the dipstick. Any ideas what this could be and should i be concerned?

Could be sign of Head Gasket on the way out id get it checked to be safe! or could just need a oil change

sure sign of water in your oil which is the head gasket going, get it checked out our you could shortly be one of those poor saps on the side of the road with their bonnet up and engine pouring steam.

it could be the head gasket alright, but it could also very easily just be that you do lots of short journeys?

Bring it out for a good long drive and see if it clears it up, it can be caused by a build up of condensation from the engine not reaching high enough temps over short journeys

As above, sounds like head gasket failure, coolant mixing with your oil. Unscrew the oil cap and look for 'mayonnaise' (then screw it back on). Contact a garage asap

Lots of doom - gloom responses here, honestly OP it can easily be nothing to worry about - happens on my car if i have a few days successively of short journeys.

keep an eye on coolant level and check for white smoke from the exhaust
