    Hi.
Just a quick one for those who are in the know..
If I were to put a body kit on a car, do I have to tell my insurance?
any idea if this'll push premiums up/ void my insurance?

The front bumper was always badly damaged on my car and i've been offered a body kit (nothing too big) that'll fit well on my car.

Thanks in advance for your replies :)

Some companies it will void the policy others it wont. Best of ringing your insurance company and finding out from the horses mouth mate.

you have to let them know that you have an aftermarket kit on it otherwise if god forbid you were in a crash, they wouldnt pay out. they might add about 50 quid or so to the policy

If thats all then its no biggy in fairness but i've *heard* stories of insurance premiums being cancelled etc. As i'm 18 I don't need an insurance company any excuse to punish me further and my korean rust bucket... I'm only taking the body kit because it's ironically cheaper than replacing the bumper. Only downside is red car + red body kit = unlikely match but thats for another day

now dont quote my 50 quid it could be a lot more but i recon that once ya let them know htat its just a front bumper and not a full kit then it may not affect your premium, but id advise them athat the reason ya got it is cos it was cheaper

Better off letting em know. I dont think it will do much to premium but as other posters said, you're better off ringing the insurers and telling em.

I wouldnt haha but your better off.

It will potentially cost more to replace in the event of an accident though....
