I just rang up Quinn Direct to change my address from Dublin 6 to Dublin 4 and she said because of the change of address my monthly repayments will increase by 60 euros!!!!

I explained that my new address has underground car parking and manned security gates and she said they do not take that into account.

I kinda lost it on the phone and she is getting her boss to ring me back tomorrow to talk to me.

Has this happened to anyone else recently?

Jesus, €60 a month more to move from posh D6 to posher D4. Sounds like a right screwing to me. Maybe those boggers think Dublin 4 is "inner city".
Ring around. Get a quote and the tell Quinn where to go. Looks like they're trying to recoup some of those Anglo-Irish losses.

They must receive more cliams from Dublin 4 . Although €60 a month sounds very high

I wonder if the typical payout on theft/accident related claims for D4 based cars significantly higher due to the value of the vehicles involved? Just guessing, but it kind of makes sense....

How many months have you left until renewal? Just so we can get an idea of how much your policy has actually gone up by.

Thats a good point ... the more an insurance company has to cough up the more they load the premium

Yes its to do with the amount of claims that occur in the area the car is stored. There are now certain post codes in the UK that quinn will initially refuse to quote on due to the high number of claims in that area.
