Behind the glove box according to attached pic. That's from a 1.6 Avensis, handy enough to get to.

Open the glove box and squeeze in the sides and it'll come down. Then just remove the cover. Remember to look at the print direction of the pollen filter, the arrows should point towards the back of the car.

Drivers side in the heater box, near the bulkhead it goes in vertical.

Any idea where its located on a diesel model without aircon. MAnual suggests in passenger footwell on the right. Can't see anything there. Not behind the glovebox from what I can see

PM me tomorrow and I will dig out the .pdf for you. I have access to a site that shows most pollen filter locations.

Just looked that up and the b*****ds have taken the .pdf files off all the pollen filters. Really messes us up here.

Worked a treat in case anyone else is ever looking.

I just yanked it out, I'm fecked if I'm paying €40 for a replacement though.

Out of interest is there any electrics on the drivers side floor of a 200 Avensis. The carpets were all wet and I can't find the source

you have to find out what is that .. coolant or just water , if thats coolant, then heating matrix have to be changed . .. expensive work though.

There has been a lot of heavy rain here today. It's in the drivers footwell.

No change in coolant level and no strange smells either so I'm assuming it's just rain water. Heater is working fine too.

If it's fitted with a sunroof it could be that the drains are blocked.

Also a common problem with those Avensis is rust around both the windscreen and the rear screen. Check for rust or holes in these areas.

It has a sunroof........and rust around the rear screen :D

How do I unblock the drains for the sunroof. I'd be certain that's where the water has come from.

It's a cheap first car for my OH so nobody really cares. Having said that it's growing on me. God knows how many miles it has done but it still feels solid. Apart from the rusty bits that it :p

Stick a piece of wire down the hole in the sunroof drain.
Hose exits just behind the rear wheel Passenger side IIRC you can see it sticking out through a rubber grommet.

Don't be so quick to stick wire down drain hole. I had this problem. If water can't get down drain then it backs up and overflows into passenger footwell. Start by pouring water into hole and see what happens. If it sticks around top of drain then it is blocked. If its OK then it will run down onto ground.

Take off the t bar cover that runs from top of door to dash. Requires you to unscrew sunvisor and handle. You can see the tube then. Mine was crimped up and a bit of massaging was all that was needed. If you start sticking wire down it could puncture the tube.

Same on other side then. Drain holes on both sides at front corners of sunroof
